Day 1: Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree):

Commence your journey after a hearty breakfast and briefing, setting out for Londorossi Park Gate via a scenic 3-hour drive. Upon arrival, a 4WD vehicle takes you through a forest track to Lemosho Glades, from where your trek to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite begins. This initial stretch covers a distance of 6km over 2-3 hours, showcasing the As you touch down at Kilimanjaro Airport, the gateway to this extraordinary adventure, the excitement begins. A seamless transfer takes you to the charming town of Moshi or Arusha, setting the stage for the journey ahead. Take a moment to acclimate to the vibrant Tanzanian culture and anticipate the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead

Destination: Londorossi Gate To Lemosho Gate To Big Tree (Mti Mkubwa) Camp

Day 2: : Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 2 Camp

After a nourishing breakfast, the trail ascends gradually through the giant heather moorland zone. Crossing several streams, the journey spans 16km over 7-8 hours, leading you to Shira 2 camp nestled in moorland meadows by a stream. The habitat transforms to Moorland, with elevations ranging from 2650m/8700ft to 3850m/12,600ft

Destination: Big Tree (Mti Mkubwa) Camp To Shira 1 Camp

Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Continuing eastward from the Shira Plateau, the trail heads up a ridge, eventually changing direction to the South East towards the Lava Tower, or the “Shark’s Tooth.” The day's trek, spanning 8km over 5-6 hours, guides you to the Barranco Camp. While the elevation remains around 4000m/13,000ft, this day is crucial for acclimatization, preparing you for the summit day in the Semi-desert habitat

Day 4: : Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Post breakfast; ascend the steep Barranco Wall ridge to the Karanga Valley. This 5km climb takes 3-4 hours, reaching elevations from 4000m/13,000ft to 4050m/13,250ft in the Alpine Desert habitat

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp

Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp

Embark on the most challenging ascent in the early hours (midnight to 2 am) towards the summit, passing through the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. Reaching Stella Point on the crater rim, take a moment to witness a breathtaking sunrise. From Stella Point, a 1-hour ascent through snow leads to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro at 5895m/19,340ft. Descend to Mweka Camp, covering 5km up and 13km down in 5-7 hours and 5-6 hours respectively, traversing Stone scree and ice-capped summit habitats.

Accommodation: Mweka Campsite

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Hotel

After breakfast, descend to the Mweka Park Gate, receiving your summit certificates. The 10km descent takes 3-4 hours, transitioning through the Forest habitat from 3090m/10,150ft to 1680m/5500ft. A Monkey Adventures vehicle awaits at Mweka gate to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi, completing the unforgettable journey in approximately 60 minutes.
