Itinerary

Day 1: Moshi - Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Moshi - Marangu Gate to  Mandara Hut

The expedition officially commences at the Marangu Gate. The trek to Mandara Hut spans a distance of approximately 8 kilometers, taking about 4-6 hours. The trail meanders through. dense rainforests, offering a variety of flora and fauna. Temperatures range from 20°C to 25°C

Destination: Moshi marangu to mandara hut

Accommodation: Mandara Hut

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinking water

Day 2: Mandara Hut Horombo Hut

Mandara Hut Horombo Hut

The day's trek covers around 12 kilometers, taking 5-7 hours. Exiting the rainforest, the landscape transforms into heath and moorland. Horombo Hut, situated at an altitude of 3,720 meters, provides breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. Temperatures drop to around 5°C to 15°C.

Day 3: Horombo Hut Kibo Hut:

Venturing into the alpine desert, participants cover approximately 10 kilometers in 6-8 hours. The landscape becomes more surreal as the trek approaches Kibo Hut at 4,700 meters. Daytime temperatures hover between 5°C and 15°C, dropping significantly at night.

Day 4: Kibo Hut Uhuru Peak - Back to Horombo Hut:

The summit day spans approximately 21 kilometers, requiring 10-14 hours. Participants conquer Uhuru Peak, standing at 5,895 meters, before descending to Horombo Hut. Temperatures vary from -10°C to 5°C, highlighting the challenging yet exhilarating nature of this day.

Day 5: Horombo Hut Mandara Hut - Marangu Gate - Back to Moshi/Arusha:

The descent covers about 27 kilometers, taking 6-8 hours. Participants traverse through heath and rainforests, relishing the varied landscapes one last time. The expedition concludes at Marangu Gate, and participants are transported back to Moshi/Arusha.
